Do It From the Heart, Not for the Credit
Aug 25, 2025

Hello Beautiful People!
Wherever this message finds you, I want you to know this truth: what you do from the heart has value, even on the days it feels unseen.
Recently, I had the honor of spending time with some incredible young people who are out here doing powerful humanitarian work. As we talked, some of them admitted how heavy it feels when their effort goes unnoticed, when the credit never seems to match the sacrifice. And it hit me deeply, because I’ve felt that too and maybe you have as well.
Here’s the truth: just because people don’t acknowledge what you’re doing doesn’t mean it isn’t valuable. Your calling isn’t up for public approval. It’s between you, your heart, and the purpose God planted inside of you.
What I’ve Learned Along the Way
Over the years, I’ve learned this: never give up on what’s important to you just because it’s not important to someone else. And never stop doing good simply because nobody is giving you credit for it.
If you’re waiting for applause before you move forward, you’re moving for the wrong reasons. The real reward doesn’t come from recognition, it comes from living in alignment with your purpose, from showing up with love and integrity, no matter who’s watching.
I’ve shared this same reminder with my own son, one of the greatest men I know: Do what you do because it’s in your heart, not because someone else validates it.
How to Keep Giving Without the Applause
Here are a few practices that have helped me keep moving when recognition was missing:
Shift your focus back to “why.” Let your purpose drive you, not people’s praise.
Celebrate the impact you can’t always see. Seeds take time to grow.
Detach from validation. Applause fades, but purpose sustains.
Find joy in the process. Doing good is its own reward.
Pass it on. Encourage others even when you’re waiting for encouragement yourself.
Pass It On
If you’ve ever felt unseen in the work you’re doing, let me say this clearly: what you’re doing matters. The reward may not always look like recognition, but it will always look like impact—peace, purpose, and lives touched along the way. And those rewards last longer than any applause ever will.
So keep going. Keep giving. Keep shining from your heart. Because at the end of the day, it’s not about the credit, It’s about the change you create. And the world needs the light only you can give.
